Ingrid Larsson and Anna Marzelius

Content

This research delves into the critical role of first-line managers at Halland's hospitals in promoting sustainable leadership within the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. With the growing adoption of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare is undergoing significant transformation. First-line managers are key players in steering their workforce through these changes while ensuring the stability and sustainability of their leadership.

The project aims to identify the support first-line managers need to develop sustainable leadership and foster a healthy work-life balance for themselves and their workforce, particularly in the context of organizational changes driven by digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI). By equipping managers with the right tools and resources, the research underscores the broader goal of creating a work environment that prioritizes the well-being of both managers and their teams. This approach not only enhances employee well-being but also drives organizational change.

Supporting first-line managers is crucial for maintaining a positive and productive workplace, especially during organizational changes driven by digital technology and AI. These managers play a key role in fostering a healthy organizational culture where employees are motivated, engaged, and empowered to deliver high-quality care. By emphasizing the importance of sustainable leadership, this research highlights managerial support as a cornerstone for long-term well-being and performance in healthcare organizations. Ultimately, it contributes to a broader vision of sustainable work-life balance, benefiting both individuals and the organization as a whole.
